dublinbikes promotes Pedal Power!
Media Release - 10th April, 2024
dublinbikes have begun phasing in a brand new look since April 8th. A new Pedal Power design will be on display across the full fleet of 1,600 bikes over the coming weeks. In addition, the dublinbikes app, website, docking station screens, service vehicles and associated inventory will all carry the Pedal Power design over the summer months to promote cycling as a sustainable and healthy transport option in the city. Pedal Power is replacing the NOW brand which was in partnership with dublinbikes since 2021.
dublinbikes is now in its 15th year and over 37 million journeys have been made since launch in 2009 making it one of the most successful bike share schemes in the world. JCDecaux, who own and operate the scheme on behalf of Dublin City Council are looking to take on a new partner brand from August 2024. The three-year agreement includes joint naming rights, branding on the bikes and across all related inventory as well as PR and Communications and advertising support.
Research conducted annually via IPSOS/Behaviour and Attitudes over the last 10 years has shown dublinbikes sponsorship delivers significant year on year improvements in awareness, consideration and attitudes to the partner brand.
Pat Mannion from JCDecaux said “the dublinbikes partnership allows like minded brands an exceptional opportunity to build their communications around dublinbikes’ three pillars of community, sustainability and health.”
